RESIDENTIAL

UPGRADES

Your home is the single largest investment of your life. Shouldn’t you be comfortable?

When older homes were built, sometimes the most basic heating and air conditioning systems were installed. Now your old unit has failed, and it’s time for a change. Personalize your new system so that it improves not only your heating and cooling, but also lowers your utility bills and makes your home a healthier place to live.

One thing to consider when you change your air conditioning is the type of refrigerant your new system will use. Did you know that R-22 is a chemical which has been shown to deplete the ozone layer that which protects us from harmful UV radiation? It is under government-controlled production now. In 2010 no new equipment may be sold with R-22 refrigerant and a 65% minimum reduction in R-22 is mandated. In 2015, there will be a 90% minimum reduction and, by 2020, R-22 production should stop altogether.

So, why buy an obsolete R-22 unit today that will be more difficult to service before your warranty is over and which will be obsolete in a few more years.  Furthermore, in many cases, the new refrigerants are more efficient than R-22, as well as being 100% non-ozone depleting. We’ve been selling air conditioners using these new refrigerants for more than ten years now, and can vouch for their efficiency and reliability. Learn more about alternative refrigerants here.
